Mark Potter is the lead guitarist and backing vocalist of Elbow. He is also the brother of Elbow keyboardist Craig Potter,the keyboardist from Elbow. Craig is also known for his backing vocals and production skills, having produced the band's 2008 album, "The Seldom Seen Kid", starting at number five on the UK Albums Chart and won the Mercury Prize in 2008. Over the band's 12-year career they have released four studio albums. The band is named after a line in the BBC TV mini-series The Singing Detective; a character says that the word "elbow" is the most sensuous word in the English language for how it feels to say it.
